Credits and plans

Peakframe meters source minutes. One minute of the media you submit costs one credit, rounded up, minimum one — regardless of how many clips come out of it. There is no per-plan episode duration cap: a 165-minute episode uses 165 credits on any plan. File-size and installation-wide media safety limits still apply.

Credits are an append-only ledger; your balance is the sum of its rows. Nothing is ever edited in place, so every movement stays auditable.

1. Reserved when work starts A hold is placed for the episode's billable minutes before a worker touches it. If the hold cannot be covered, the episode is refused before any job exists.
2. Settled when it succeeds The hold converts to a charge for the authoritative duration.
3. Refunded when it dies An episode that exhausts its retries releases its hold. A failure on our side does not cost you credits.

Your plan's credits arrive on your signup anniversary, not on the first of the month, and they expire when the next period's grant lands. Credit packs you buy separately do not expire — so spending always draws on the grant first, leaving purchased credits intact for as long as possible.

Retention currently follows this installation’s cleanup policy, rather than a guaranteed plan-specific archive. Keep your original recordings and download final clips you need to preserve. Deleting an episode permanently removes its clips and cancels queued work; a running task may take a moment to stop.
